Vintage Finds
A friend of mine and I were recently away on a girl’s weekend when we walked into a very cool antique store in downtown Plymouth, MA. It’s always fun to poke around in antique stores because as the saying goes “One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.” I don’t necessary love that saying because some items just don’t deserve to be labeled as trash.
While in the store I came across this gorgeous green glass vintage bowl. I knew instantly what I could do with it, and that it had so many uses. I was giddy. Over a green glass bowl. Haha! For the first few weeks I had the bowl, I popped a votive candle in it and just enjoyed the beautiful candlelight flickering through that gorgeous green color. I also used it as a candy dish, and thought for a moment about using it as a fancy plant pot. Ultimately, I decided on a gorgeous fake cedarwood plant decoration to last beyond the Christmas season. Some lights and a gorgeous burgundy bow later, and voila!
Just because its old, doesn’t mean it doesn’t still have life left! It just might need a new purpose.
